• Played four seasons (2014-17) at Vanderbilt in Nashville, Tenn.
• Appeared in 47 games (21 starts) and registered 123 tackles (85 solo), 10 tackles for loss, four forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
• Played in 11 games (seven starts) at nickel in 2017 and totaled 29 tackles (18 solo) and three passes defensed.
• Appeared in 12 games (seven starts) at safety in 2016 and recorded 40 tackles (29 solo), three tackles for loss, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
• Saw action in all 12 games (seven starts) in 2015 and posted 36 tackles (24 solo) and five tackles for loss.
• Played in 11 games as a true freshman in 2014 and concluded the season with 18 tackles (14 solo), two tackles for loss and two forced fumbles.

PERSONAL

• Attended Central Catholic High School in Pittsburgh, Pa.
• Was a two-year defensive starter and earned All-State and All-League honors.
• Named to the Pennsylvania roster for Big 33 Pennsylvania-Ohio Prep Football Classic.
• As a senior in 2013, he posted 75 tackles, including 10 for loss, four interceptions and two forced fumbles to help the team capture the Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Award Class AAAA title and runner-up in the PIAL state championship.
• Majored in communication studies and engineering technology.
• Son of Darieth and Arnold Tarpley Jr.
• Dad, Darieth, is a podiatrist and his mom is a former Pittsburgh TV news anchor who now works as a marketing entrepreneur.
