EXPERT: Matt Tabeek - Falcons digital managing editor

PICK: A.J. Epenesa, DE, Iowa

EXPERT: Mel Kiper - ESPN football analyst

PICK: A.J. Epenesa, DE, Iowa

LAST MOCK PUBLISHED: Feb. 18

KIPER'S ANALYSIS: "We already know that Vic Beasley Jr. won't return to Atlanta, as the Falcons will let the former first-round pick enter free agency, but this team needed pass-rushers even before parting ways with him. As I mentioned in my Mock Draft 1.0, their 28 sacks last season tied for second fewest in the league and Takkarist McKinley didn't make a jump in Year 3, finishing with 3.5 sacks. At 6-6, 280, Epenesa is big enough to play tackle or end in a 4-3 defense, and he has some juice and power as an edge rusher. If Atlanta loses Austin Hooper in free agency, a huge void opens at tight end, though I don't have one ranked this high." To see all of Kiper's latest mock draft, click here.

EXPERT: Todd McShay - ESPN senior writer

PICK: A.J. Epenesa, DE, Iowa

LAST MOCK PUBLISHED: Feb. 3

McSHAY'S ANALYSIS: "Vic Beasley Jr. won't be back, Adrian Clayborn might not either and Takkarist McKinley could have only one more season in Atlanta if the Falcons decide against picking up his fifth-year option. On a defense that produced 28 sacks, tied for the second fewest in the NFL, that only magnifies edge rushing as the team's most critical need. Epenesa had eight sacks in his final five games at Iowa and is great at getting his arms in passing lanes. The Falcons could think about a defensive back, but even though I see Epenesa as a bit of a reach here, he is their best bet in addressing a major team weakness." EXPERT: Chad Reuter - NFL.com draft analyst

PICK: A.J. Epenesa, DE, Iowa

LAST MOCK PUBLISHED: Feb. 3

REUTER'S ANALYSIS: "Epenesa can overpower tackles, hustle for sacks and hold the line of scrimmage. The Falcons tied for the second-fewest sacks among all NFL squads in 2019 (28)." To see all of Reuter's latest mock draft, click here.

Baun_AP_19285830161533

EXPERT: Lance Zierlein - NFL Media draft analyst

PICK: Zack Baun, Edge, Wisonsin

LAST MOCK PUBLISHED: Jan. 29

ZIERLEIN'S ANALYSIS: "Baun has rare athletic skills to play 4-3 outside linebacker on early downs and rush from the edge on passing downs." To see all of Zierlein's latest mock draft, click here.

Chaisson_AP_19362771796315

EXPERT: Bucky Brooks - NFL.com analyst

PICK: K'Lavon Chaisson, DE, LSU

LAST MOCK PUBLISHED: Jan. 29

BROOKS' ANALYSIS: "The LSU standout is the kind of urgent athlete Dan Quinn and Thomas Dimitroff prefer on defense." To see all of Brooks' latest mock draft, click here.

AJ5

EXPERT: Daniel Jeremiah - NFL Media analyst

PICK: A.J. Epenesa, DE, Iowa

LAST MOCK PUBLISHED: Jan. 21

JEREMIAH'S ANALYSIS: "The Falcons have tried and failed to land a consistently productive edge rusher. Epenesa doesn't have the highest ceiling, but I believe he'll be a dependable 8-to-10-sack performer at the next level." To see all of Jeremiah's latest mock draft, click here.

CH2

EXPERT: Maurice Jones-Drew - NFL.com analyst

PICK: K'Lavon Chaisson, DE, LSU

LAST MOCK PUBLISHED: Feb. 11

JONES-DREW'S ANALYSIS: "He is the perfect fit for the Falcons' defense. Chaisson will bring crazy speed off the edge." To see all of Jones-Drew's latest mock draft, click here.

FultonEdit_AP_19245250888678

EXPERT: Ryan Wilson - CBS Sports writer

PICK: Kristian Fulton, CB, LSU

LAST MOCK PUBLISHED: Feb. 17

WILSON'S ANALYSIS: "The Falcons have needs at edge rusher, defensive line and linebacker too, but Fulton is a legit first-round talent who can lock down the opposing team's best receiver." To see all of Wilson's latest mock draft, click here.

PREVIOUS WILSON PICKS:

AJ6

EXPERT: Chris Trapasso - CBS Sports writer

PICK: A.J. Epenesa, DE, Iowa

LAST MOCK PUBLISHED: Feb. 19

TRAPASSO'S ANALYSIS: "The Falcons need more pass rushers. Epenesa is ready to be a three-down player thanks to his length, power, edge-setting ability, and pass-rushing moves." To see all of Trapasso's latest mock draft, click here.

AJ7

EXPERT: R.J. White - CBS Sports writer

PICK: A.J. Epenesa, DE, Iowa

LAST MOCK PUBLISHED: Feb. 12

WHITE'S ANALYSIS: "The Falcons have already made it clear they're moving on from Vic Beasley, and they'll need an immediate starter at defensive end to help share the load. Epenesa looked like a top-10 pick before this season and did nothing to cause his stock to dramatically fall." To see all of White's latest mock draft, click here.

PREVIOUS WHITE PICKS:

AJ8

EXPERT: Josh Edwards - CBS Sports writer

PICK: A.J. Epenesa, DE, Iowa

LAST MOCK PUBLISHED: Feb. 14

EDWARDS' ANALYSIS: "I've been saying for awhile that Epenesa and the Falcons felt like a perfect union. The Iowa pass rusher has been devalued a bit as this process has progressed. Dan Quinn happily ends his fall at No. 16 overall. Yes, the rhyme was intentional." To see all of Edwards' latest mock draft, click here.

PREVIOUS EDWARDS PICKS:

KinlawEdit_AP_19311810093944

EXPERT: Will Brinson - CBS Sports senior writer

PICK: Javon Kinlaw, DT, South Carolina

LAST MOCK PUBLISHED: Feb. 13

BRINSON'S ANALYSIS: "After spending two first round picks on offensive linemen last year, it stands to reason the Falcons are going to get some defensive help to keep Dan Quinn from finally getting fired. Kinlaw established himself at the Senior Bowl as worthy of going in the top 20." To see all of Brinson's latest mock draft, click here.

LewisEdit_AP_19313815478072

EXPERT: Pete Prisco - CBS Sports senior writer

PICK: Terrell Lewis, Edge, Alabama

LAST MOCK PUBLISHED: Feb. 19

PRISCO'S ANALYSIS: "He can play a variety of spots and the Falcons need somebody to amp up that pass rush. They've addressed this position a bunch, but they have yet to hit the big home run." To see all of Prisco's latest mock draft, click here.

CH3

EXPERT: Trevor Sikkema - The Draft Network

PICK: K'Lavon Chaisson, DE, LSU

LAST MOCK PUBLISHED: Jan. 27

SIKKEMA'S ANALYSIS: "Our second trade! Everyone is on thin ice in Atlanta. Head coach Dan Quinn, general manager Thomas Dimitroff and the rest of the front office and coaching staff have one more year to get this right before they're all out the door. Knowing that, this could be a team poised to get aggressive. The Falcons own three day two picks in 2020, two second rounders and a third rounder. Using one of them paired with No. 16, I think they could make a deal with a team like Cleveland to get one of the best speed rushers in the class. K'Lavon Chaisson is perfect for Atlanta's biggest need, but the Falcons will likely need to jump in front of the New York Jets at No. 11 to get him. Here, they do." AJ9

EXPERT: Kyle Crabbs - The Draft Network

PICK: A.J. Epenesa, DE, Iowa

LAST MOCK PUBLISHED: Feb. 3

CRABBS' ANALYSIS: "The Falcons traded down about as far as they could while still getting the best EDGE available still on the board. Had they traded below New England, odds are Epenesa is gobbled up — he's a great fit for the Patriots' style of defense. In Atlanta, he provides the team with a different dynamic on the defensive front. He's definitely an upgrade over Adrian Clayborne and provides the Falcons with more juice up front on defense."
