The Atlanta Falcons announced Tuesday that they are promoting wide receiver Brandon Powell from the practice squad to the active roster.

Powell, 23, was added to Atlanta's practice squad earlier this season after spending the 2018 season with the Detroit Lions. As an undrafted rookie, Powell played in six games for the Lions last season and made one start. He caught 11 passes for 129 yards.

Powell attended the University of Florida, where he caught 131 passes for 1,330 yards and nine touchdowns. Powell also has experience as a return man, and he returned a combined 49 kickoffs and punts during his college career.

In addition to promoting Powell to the active roster, the Falcons have signed offensive guard Anthony Coyle and safety C.J. Reavis to their practice squad.
