Dan Quinn announced during his Wednesday press conference that quarterback Matt Ryan and Desmond Trufant would both be out on the field when the Falcons resumed practice ahead of Sunday's game against the New Orleans Saints, and that's exactly what happened.
The two veteran starters were listed as limited participants on Wednesday, joining guards Jamon Brown, Wes Schweitzer and James Carpenter as well as tight end Jaeden Graham as players with that particular distinction. Second-year running back Ito Smith is still in the league's concussion protocol and was held out of practice, as was rookie defensive end John Cominsky, who is dealing with an ankle injury.
