The Atlanta Falcons announced Saturday that they are signing punter Kasey Redfern from their practice squad to the active roster.

Redfern, 28, was added to Atlanta's practice squad Friday after it was reported that Sam Irwin-Hill, the team's previous Australian-born practice-squad punter, was having issues with a work visa. Redfern has played in one game during his NFL career, kicking a 50-yard punt on his lone attempt with the Detroit Lions.

To make room for Redfern on the 53-man roster, the Falcons have waived offensive lineman John Wetzel.

Atlanta plays the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday at 4:05 p.m. ET, and the Falcons are searching for their first road win of the season.
