James Carpenter, the Falcons' starting left guard, was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice due to a knee injury, but he was downgraded to a non-participant during Thursday's session.
Carpenter has started every game at guard for the Falcons this season, but he missed some time during Atlanta's game against the Arizona Cardinals due to injury. It appears he's still hampered by that injury, as Thursday's report indicates. Aside from Carpenter, cornerback Desmond Trufant was the only other player held out of practice. Trufant missed the Cardinals game with a toe injury, and he has yet to practice this week.
