Falcons injury report: Matt Ryan held out of practice

The Atlanta Falcons are taking a cautious approach with Matt Ryan's ankle and held him out of Wednesday's practice. Ryan participated in the team's walkthrough, and coach Dan Quinn said he expects his starting quarterback to get some practice time in later in the week ahead of Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers.

Devonta Freeman and Austin Hooper were also held out of practice, but their availability this weekend seems to be much more in jeopardy. Cornerback Desmond Trufant practices in a limited fashion as he is looking to return to action for the first time since Week 5.
