FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — The Atlanta Falcons' Wednesday injury report was a long one that included 11 players who did not participate in practice at all. The Falcons are set to host the Carolina Panthers at home this Sunday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
Of those non-participants was the Falcons' leading receiver, Drake London, who was listed on the report as having an illness. Other offensive starters like guards Chris Lindstrom (foot) and Matthew Bergeron (ankle) did not participate, either. Head coach Raheem Morris said prior to practice that holding Lindstrom back was more out of precaution, and he considers Bergeron "day-to-day," after he missed the team's game in Germany last Sunday with his respective injury.
On the defensive side of the ball, four members of the defensive front did not practice as well. That includes edge rusher Leonard Floyd, who missed last Sunday with a hamstring injury, as well as Brandon Dorlus (oblique), Zach Harrison (knee) and Sam Roberts (knee/ankle).
The special teams unit didn't go untouched on the injury report, either, but it was for brighter news. Morris confirmed long snapper Liam McCullough missed practice as he and his wife welcomed their first child into the world.
In other injury news, Mike Hughes showed good progress after missing the Germany game with a neck injury. He was ruled out prior to the game with Dee Alford filling in for him. Alford left the game early with a concussion. Both members of the Falcons' secondary were limited Wednesday.
News of the day also involved offensive tackle Storm Norton (foot) reverting back to injured reserve, ending his season after his 21-day window to return officially closed without the Falcons elevating him to the active roster. Linebacker and special teams player DeAngelo Malone suffered a significant ankle injury last Sunday and Morris said he would be going on injured reserve soon.
