FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — Atlanta Falcons offensive lineman Storm Norton will be out for the remainder of the 2025 season.
Norton was designated to return from injured reserve on Oct. 22, granting him a 21-day practice window before a determination had to be reached. That 21-day window closed Wednesday. Since the Falcons did not activate him to their 53-man roster, Norton reverts to season-ending injured reserve.
Norton's window opened in Week 8. He was a full participant in every practice but ruled out for the Falcons' loss to the Miami Dolphins. Norton was a full practice participant Wednesday and Thursday in Week 9, but he did not participate Friday. He was ruled out again for the Falcons' loss to the New England Patriots.
Falcons head coach Raheem Morris was asked in Week 10 whether Norton had a setback in his recovery.
"We'll get a feel," Morris said. "But it wasn't great news. It's something I don't want to speak in all the full medical terms (until) I talked to our guys about it and what we're going to do with it. So, we'll have to figure it out."
Norton did not practice in Week 10, nor did he make the trip to Berlin for the Falcons' international game against the Indianapolis Colts. Atlanta lost.
Norton was originally placed on injured reserve when the Falcons' initial roster came out. He and defensive lineman TaQuon Graham took the team's two allotted injured reserve spots with a designation to return. Graham officially returned but was recently released.
It was reported back on Aug. 20 that Norton underwent ankle surgery. After he returned to practice, though, he was listed with a foot injury.
Also on Wednesday, the Falcons designated inside linebacker Malik Verdon to return from reserve/non-football injury and signed safety Jammie Robinson to the practice squad.
Verdon was originally placed on the NFI list back in July when training camp began. He remained there when the Falcons' initial roster came out.
The Falcons signed Verdon as an undrafted free agent during the offseason. If he practices with the team Wednesday, it'll be his first taste of NFL regular-season action.
Robinson, meanwhile, comes to Atlanta with two seasons of playing experience on his resume. He spent the 2023 and 2024 with the Carolina Panthers, making two starts in 21 appearances and totaling 20 tackles across those. Robinson has not yet played in 2025.
These moves come before the Falcons' Week 11 rematch with the Panthers on Sunday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
