FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — Following the Atlanta Falcons' final preseason game against the Miami Dolphins on Friday night, head coach Kevin Stefanski said he'd hoped to keep "a bunch of guys on our practice squad" after his first training camp with the organization.
He is getting his wish.
The Falcons have added 15 players to their initial practice squad, and each member of the group was with the team in training camp. It's a good mix of training camp standouts like running back Tyler Goodson and cornerback Darnay Holmes, proven veteran pieces like linebacker Josh Woods and intriguing rookies the team would like to develop. Atlanta has one remaining spot open on its 16-man practice squad after Monday's signings.
Here is a look at the Falcons' initial practice squad for the 2026 season:
- DT Carlos Allen Jr.
- WR Vinny Anthony II
- OL James Brockermeyer
- CB Cobee Bryant
- OL Kam Dewberry
- WR Dylan Drummond
- RB Tyler Goodson
- CB Darnay Holmes
- RB Cash Jones
- OL Riley Mahlman
- TE Nick Muse
- DE Cam Sample
- TE Jack Velling
- WR Antwane Wells Jr.
- LB Josh Woods
As with the team's initial 53-man roster, this practice squad is not set in stone. Both will change throughout the season.
The Falcons are permitted to elevate two players from the practice squad to the active roster for each game. A player is allowed three elevations per season; after the third elevation, a player must be signed to the 53-man roster to be active for a game.
Stefanski praised the work his club put in during the offseason, beginning with OTAs and carrying all the way through roster cutdowns on Sunday night. With many of the players from the team's 90-man training camp roster back in the fold, that work continues.
