Falcons sign safety from UFL

The transaction came before Atlanta's fifth open practice of training camp.

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — The Atlanta Falcons signed safety Henry Black, the team announced Thursday before its fifth open practice of training camp. In a corresponding move, Atlanta has released wide receiver Makai Polk.

Black spent the 2025 UFL season with the San Antonio Brahmas. In 10 games, he made 21 tackles, two of which were for a loss.

Black otherwise hasn't played in an NFL game since 2021. Back then, he appeared in all 17 games for the Green Bay Packers, taking 24% of the defensive snaps and 73% of the special teams snaps. He totaled 38 tackles and had an interception, a forced fumble and two pass breakups.

In 2020, when he was a rookie, Black appeared in eight games for the Packers. He totaled eight tackles and both forced and recovered a fumble.

Black was originally an undrafted free agent from Baylor University.

This actually isn't the first time the Falcons have signed Black in the preseason. They did so on July 28, 2022, but waived him on Aug. 30, 2022, with the 53-man roster cute deadline.
