Atlanta's starting longsnapper Josh Harris is questionable for Thursday night's game against the Philadelphia Eagles due to a hip injury, and the decision to promote Overbaugh from the practice squad gives the Falcons another option if Harris is unable to play.

Overbaugh, 24, was the longsnapper for the Minnesota Vikings during their two playoff games last season, and filled in for Harris earlier in the week while he was sidelined.

"He did a nice job," Falcons special teams coordinator Keith Armstrong said of Overbaugh Monday. "He did a real nice job today. He's been in it, we've been in meetings all night. He's going for it, and he's doing a good job."

Jarvis, and undrafted free agent out of Brown, earned a spot on the Falcons' active roster following the preseason. Jarvis had seven tackles and two sacks during the preseason.
