Falcons sign Brian Hill to active roster, Julian Williams to practice squad; waive Tuioti-Mariner

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. – The Falcons announced a trio of moves Tuesday afternoon. Atlanta is signing running back Brian Hill off the practice squad and adding him to the active roster, signing receiver Julian Williams to the practice squad and waiving practice squad defensive tackle Jacob Tuioti-Mariner.

Hill was drafted by the Falcons in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft, and he spent a portion of last season on Atlanta's practice squad before the Cincinnati Bengals signed him to their active roster. The Bengals waived Hill following the preseason, and the Falcons subsequently signed him back to their practice squad.

This preseason Hill ran for 87 yards on 17 carries, averaging 5.1 yards per carry. Hill was ultra-productive during his time in college at Wyoming, running for 4,287 yards and 35 touchdowns on 775 carries, including a combined 3,491 yards and 28 touchdowns in his final two seasons.

Williams was signed by the Falcons as an undrafted free agent out of Florida International University in the preseason. He caught one pass for four yards in the Falcons' final preseason game. In his two seasons at FIU, Williams played in 21 games and caught 41 passes for 483 yards and two touchdowns.

Tuioti-Mariner was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Falcons this offseason. In the preseason, Tuioti-Mariner recorded five tackles and one sack.
