Falcons injury report: ILB Divine Deablo progressing well as Saints rivalry prep continues

The team opened up his 21-day window to return from injured reserve Wednesday, but it is trending like Deablo could be available to Atlanta well before those 21 days even hits a double-digit mark.

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — Atlanta Falcons head coach Raheem Morris said earlier this week that the team is expecting inside linebacker Divine Deablo to return to the active roster sooner rather than later. The team opened up his 21-day window to return from injured reserve Wednesday, but it is trending like Deablo could be available to Atlanta well before those 21 days even hits a double-digit mark.

"I expect to see him," Morris said of Deablo. "I don't want to act like I'm going to activate him and not see him. I hope we're going to see him unless something otherwise says something."

Meaning, unless Deablo experiences a setback. The inside linebacker was limited Wednesday but a full participant Thursday. Deablo said that his limited status was more because of the Falcons ramping him back up than it had to do with any limitations he may have physically with the healing fractured bone in his forearm. Deablo has been sporting a club-line cast on his arm during this week's practices.

"Honestly, I need to run at full speed," Deablo said Wednesday when asked what he needs to see from himself to know he's ready for Sunday's game in New Orleans. "I need to make sure my endurance is right, make sure my mind is right as well, make sure I know my assignments and make sure I can do everything at the best level possible. Then, I'll be ready."
