Falcons injury report: Michael Penix Jr.'s status remains limited in first full Atlanta practice of Week 8

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — Quarterback Michael Penix Jr. told reporters during his weekly news conference Wednesday that he is feeling good after getting rolled up on in the final minutes of the team's loss to San Francisco Sunday night. Asked if he expects to play this Sunday against the Miami Dolphins, Penix was straight to the point in his response.

"Yes," Penix said, "that's the plan."

Penix is working through a knee injury. He was listed as limited in the team's Wednesday estimate — as a reminder, the Falcons held a walkthrough, not practice, Wednesday. In Thursday's first practice of Week 8, Penix remained a limited participant. So, too, did RB Tyler Allgeier (hip/knee), OT Jake Matthews (ankle) and WR Darnell Mooney (hamstring).

The Falcons continued to see defensive rookies EDGE Jalon Walker (groin) and DB Billy Bowman Jr. (hamstring) as non-participants.

You can view the Falcons' full Thursday report below, and the week's entire report from both Atlanta and Miami here.
