FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — The Atlanta Falcons have officially ruled cornerback A.J. Terrell out for their Week 3 matchup against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday afternoon.
Terrell suffered a hamstring injury in the final seconds of the first half against the Minnesota Vikings last Sunday night. Head coach Raheem Morris said Monday the Falcons are considering Terrell "week-to-week." Morris added there would be an open competition to determine a starter in Terrell's absence.
In other injury news, the Falcons got a good report on tight ends Kyle Pitts and Charlie Woerner. Pitts was a full participant in Friday's practice after being limited with a toe issue Thursday. And, despite not practicing in Wednesday or Thursday's practice with an ankle injury, Woerner progressed well enough to participate fully on Friday and not warrant a game designation. Both will be available and active Sunday in Charlotte.
Meanwhile, return man Jamal Agnew (groin) and wide receiver Casey Washington (concussion) were ruled out alongside Terrell. Though Washington was able to get in limited work all week, the league's concussion protocol dictates that a player cannot be active unless they participate fully in at least one practice prior to a game.
