Falcons sign defensive lineman off Giants practice squad; elevate CB Cobee Bryant to active roster

Atlanta also released offensive lineman Andrew Stueber and will elevate safety Jammie Robinson to the active roster for Sunday's game.

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — The Atlanta Falcons are signing defensive lineman Elijah Garcia to the active roster and releasing offensive lineman Andrew Stueber. The organization is also using a standard practice squad elevation on cornerback Cobee Bryant and safety Jammie Robinson.

The Falcons signed Garcia off of the New York Giants' practice squad, a unit he has been with off and on since August 2024. The lineman went undrafted in the 2022 NFL Draft, but he was signed as a free agent by the Los Angeles Rams. He spent the majority of the 2022 season with the Rams before being signed off the Rams' practice squad to the Denver Broncos in December 2022, where he remained until 2024, when he joined the Giants.

Garcia is a graduate of Rice University. He was a first-team All-Conference USA selection in 2021. To make room for Garcia on the active 53-man roster, the Falcons released Stueber, who was signed earlier this month.

The Falcons placed defensive lineman Sam Roberts on injured reserve Friday, and listed defensive linemen Brandon Dorlus and Zach Harrison as questionable for Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers. They also signed defensive lineman Kentavius Street to the active roster from Atlanta's practice squad.

In other roster-related news, the Falcons have used a standard practice squad elevation on Bryant and Robinson. This is likely a move to solidify depth in the secondary for Atlanta, as Dee Alford (concussion) was ruled out Friday and starting cornerback Mike Hughes (neck) was given a questionable game designation.

This is Bryant and Robinson's first practice squad elevations.

Reminder: Every team can elevate two players from the practice squad to the active roster for each game day. A player is allowed three elevations per season. A fourth elevation would require the player to be signed to the 53-man roster.
