FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — In their lengthiest game report to date, the Atlanta Falcons have a lot of injury questions heading into their Week 11 rematch with the Carolina Panthers at Mercedes-Benz Stadium this Sunday.
We'll start with those listed as questionable.
Drake London missed Wednesday first practice of the week with an illness. However, he remained on the injury report the rest of the week with a back issue being added to his status. He was limited in practice Thursday and Friday, and was listed as questionable for Sunday's game. According to StatsPerform, since Michael Penix Jr.'s first career start in Week 16 of last season, he and London have totaled 1,034 receiving yards. That ranks second in the NFL in receiving yards among QB/WR combos over that span.
In the Falcons last two games alone, London has totaled 222 receiving yards on 15 receptions, four of which were touchdown catches.
What's more, London has been targeted on 33.2% of his routes against zone coverage, the third-highest rate among wide receivers with at least 100 zone coverage routes run, according to Next Gen Stats. This is notable because the Panthers defense has deployed zone coverage on a league-high 84.8% of dropbacks this season.
Along with London, the Falcons are set to make a game-time decision on other starters like guard Chris Lindstrom (foot), cornerback Mike Hughes (neck) as well as defensive linemen Zach Harrison (knee) and Brandon Dorlus (oblique).
For the second consecutive week, the Falcons have ruled out guard Matthew Bergeron (ankle) and edge rusher Leonard Floyd (hamstring). Dee Alford was also ruled out via a concussion sustained in last Sunday's loss to the Colts.
