The Atlanta Falcons today announced that they have agreed to terms with guard Justin Blalock on a six-year contract.

Blalock, 6-4, 326 pounds, was originally drafted by the Falcons in the second round (39th overall) of the 2007 NFL Draft. In four seasons in Atlanta, he has started all 62 contests that he has participated in, including all 16 games in each of the last three seasons. In 2010, Blalock started 16 games at left guard and opened holes for a Falcons rushing attack that ranked 12th in the NFL averaging 118.2 yards per game.

Blalock will be eligible to practice Aug. 4.
