NFL Power Rankings Week 3: Ravens, Bills roll, Falcons make a jump after Sunday Night Football win

Plus, a Super Bowl rematch tips the scales in the top-10.

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — Week 2 of the 2025 NFL season had a little bit of everything. Top teams put together statements wins. A Super Bowl rematch ensued. Defenses took a stand across the league. And the Dallas Cowboys-New York Giants game captivated the afternoon crowd.

How did these games shape this week's rankings? Quite a bit, actually. Let's get into it.

Power Rankings 16x9
(2-0)
1
Bills_table
Buffalo Bills
Week 2 result: Beat the New York Jets, 30-10

The Bills did what they needed to do against the Jets. They left no doubt that they deserve the top spot in this ranking once again.

(1-1)
2
Ravens_table
Baltimore Ravens
Week 2 result: Beat the Cleveland Browns, 41-17

The vibes for the Ravens are similar to that of the Bills. They took care of business. If they wouldn't have had to face the No. 1 team on this list in Week 1, I truly believe they'd be a 2-0 squad.

(2-0)
3
Packers_table
Green Bay Packers
Week 2 result: Beat the Washington Commanders, 27-18

The Packers keep getting tested but they keep passing the tests.

(2-0)
4
Chargers_table
Los Angeles Chargers
Week 2 result: Beat the Las Vegas Raiders, 20-9

Another team that did what it needed to do against a lower ranked team.

(2-0)
5
1
Eagles.png
Philadelphia Eagles
Week 2 result: Beat the Kansas City Chiefs, 20-17

Did anyone else feel like the rematch of last season's Super Bowl was even more fun in the regular season in Week 2? Just me?

4
Rams_table
Los Angeles Rams
Week 2 result: Beat the Tennessee Titans, 33-19

Another top team doing what they needed to do against a lower-ranked opponent. We'll know more about this Rams team next week when they face the Eagles.

(2-0)
7
6
Bucs_table
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Week 2 result: Beat the Houston Texans, 20-19

Baker Mayfield, man. The guy is a gamer and seems to always find a way. You can't count him out of anything.

(1-1)
8
Lions_table
Detroit Lions
Week 2 result: Beat the Chicago Bears, 52-21

If you read last week's Power Rankings you know that I said then that it was going to be sooner rather than later that we see the Lions get going. I imagine this qualifies as sooner.

af_22_nfl_club-logo_0000s_0001_commanders
Washington Commanders
Week 2 result: Lost to the Green Bay Packers, 27-18

Just because the Commanders lost to the Packers doesn't mean they aren't a top-10 team. I still believe they absolutely are.

(1-1)

1
Steelers_table
Pittsburgh Steelers
Week 2 result: Lost to the Seattle Seahawks, 31-17

I'm going to be real... I really can't decide how I feel about the Seahawks. Therefore, I can't say how I really feel about the Steelers loss to the Seahawks.

(2-0)
11
6
Colts_table
Indianapolis Colts
Week 2 result: Beat the Denver Broncos, 29-28

Look at the Colts. Skyrocketing up the rankings in the first two weeks of the season.

(1-1)
12
7
Vikings.png
Minnesota Vikings
Week 2 result: Lost to the Atlanta Falcons, 22-6

The Vikings are in a tough spot following a loss to Atlanta. They were shutout of the endzone and they lost J.J. McCarthy for a few weeks at least with a high ankle sprain. Minnesota could be at an early turning point in their season.

(2-0)
13
2
49ers_table
San Francisco 49ers
Week 2 result: Beat the New Orleans Saints, 26-21

I really thought the 49ers were going to beat the brakes off the Saints. But they didn't. And I don't know if that is notable for the Saints or 49ers.

(1-1)
14
Broncos_table
Denver Broncos
Week 2 result: Lost to the Indianapolis Colts, 29-28

It was difficult to place the Broncos because 1) they only lost to the Colts by one, and 2) they only lost to the Colts by one.

(2-0)
15
2
Bengals_table
Cincinnati Bengals
Week 2 result: Beat the Jacksonville Jaguars, 31-27

I'd argue the Bengals are the luckiest 2-0 team in the league right now. They squeaked out a win last week. They did so again this week without Joe Burrow. They may be without Burrow for a very long time so I don't really know how long they stay where they are.

(1-1)
16
5
FALCONS
Atlanta Falcons
Week 2 results: Beat the Minnesota Vikings, 22-6

Big moves for Atlanta with a statement win over the Vikings in enemy territory. They have a chance to put the pedal to the metal with an NFC South opponent on deck with a road game in Carolina next Sunday.

(2-0)
17
2
Cardinals_Table
Arizona Cardinals
Week 2 results: Beat the Carolina Panthers, 27-22

Another team I am not entirely sure where to place. Have the Cardinals beaten the two teams they have played? Yes. Were they impressive wins? Not really.

(1-1)
18
4
Seahawks_table
Seattle Seahawks
Week 2 results: Beat the Pittsburgh Steelers, 31-17

The Seahawks that only put up 13 points against the 49ers in Week 1 was not the Seahawks that beat the Steelers this week. It's why I have such a hard time placing them!

(1-1)
19
1
Cowboys_table
Dallas Cowboys
Week 2 result: Beat the New York Giants, 40-37 in overtime

The Cowboys continue to do Cowboys things. Nothing can ever be without drama. That includes their Week 2 win. But hey, I am not complaining. That was one of the most fun games Sunday.

8
Chiefs_table
Kansas City Chiefs
Week 2 result: Lost to the Philadelphia Eagles, 20-17

The Chiefs haven't lost their first two games of a season in a decade. However, the Tay-Voo-Doo is real so I am not counting them out.

5
Texans_table
Houston Texans
Week 2 result: Lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 20-19

I did not think the Texans were going to start the season 0-2, but here we are. They need a win, soon.

(0-2)
22
11
Bears_table
Chicago Bears
Week 2 result: Lost to the Detroit Lions, 52-21

I'm starting to think the preseason hype in Chicago was just that... preseason hype.

(1-1)
23
1
Jaguars_table
Jacksonville Jaguars
Week 2 results: Lost to the Cincinnati Bengals, 31-27

The Jaguars should have beaten the Bengals. Point blank. They had leverage. They performed well enough at times. But they did not do enough to win, which means they did not do enough to break the top-20 just yet.

(0-2)
24
1
Jets_table
New York Jets
Week 2 result: Lost to the Buffalo Bills, 30-10

Unfortunately for the Jets, the Bills are just too good right now for there to be moves made in Week 2.

(0-2)
25
1
Giants_table
New York Giants
Week 2 result: Lost to the Dallas Cowboys, 40-37 in overtime

Man. I really liked watching the Giants play Sunday. I already told you it was the best game of Sunday. But... like... they didn't win. So, I can't in good faith move them up too high despite the fact I think they are an interesting team.

(1-1)
26
1
Raiders_table
Las Vegas Raiders
Week 2 result: Lost to the Los Angeles Chargers, 20-9

Last week I said if the Raiders played well against the Chargers I would bump them up in the ranking. I think they did OK against the Chargers, but didn't do enough to warrant a significant jump.

(0-2)
27
2
Titans_table
Tennessee Titans
Week 2 result: Lost to the Los Angeles Rams, 33-19

This game Sunday was the Rams to lose, not the Titans to win. And that's all you really need to know about it.

(0-2)
28
1
Panthers_table
Carolina Panthers
Week 2 result: Lost to the Arizona Cardinals, 27-22

I am worried about the Falcons facing a 0-2 Panthers on the road. They kind of have nothing to lose. And a team like that can be dangerous.

(0-2)
29
3
Saints_table
New Orleans Saints
Week 2 result: Lost to the San Francisco 49ers, 26-21

Hey, you gotta give it to the Saints: They're making games a bit interesting this year!

(1-1)

1
Patriots_table
New England Patriots
Week 2 result: Beat the Miami Dolphins, 33-27

The Patriots beat the Dolphins, which I don't think says very much about their trajectory.

(0-2)
31
3
Browns_table
Cleveland Browns
Week 2 results: Lost to the Baltimore Ravens, 41-17

The Browns did what I thought the Browns would do against the Ravens.

Dolphins_table
Miami Dolphins
Week 2 result: Lost to the New England Patriots, 33-17

Oh man. I didn't think the Dolphins would fall so low. But here we are...
