FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — Week 14 wasn't short on drama that greatly affects the playoff picture for many.
The Bills mounted a successful comeback on the back of a historic Josh Allen performance. Meanwhile, the Texans sucker-punched the Chiefs, dwindling their postseason hopes down to just 14%.
Elsewhere, the Packers continued to thrive, and the Rams got back on track. And yes, the Falcons dropped as their playoff hopes were officially extinguished.
Let's get into all of it in this week's Power Rankings.

The Patriots haven't lost a game since the second-to-last week of September. They have the Bills on deck, though, for arguably Week 15's highest-stakes game.
After a surprising loss to the Panthers last week, the Rams got back on track. So, too, did Matthew Stafford in his MVP-like quest. He excelled pushing the ball downfield, according to Next Gen Stats, going 8-for-10 for 170 yards and a season-high three touchdowns on throws of 10-plus air yards. He was also perfect on deep attempts (20-plus air yards), completing all three for 87 yards and two touchdowns, tying his season high in deep completions.
His favorite target? Puka Nacua, who had himself a career day.
The Seahawks showed why this offense is not one to be trifled with, outscoring Atlanta 31-3 in the second half after the game was tied 6-all at halftime. The second half of Week 14 was the fourth time Seattle scored at least 30 points in a half this season. The only team with more 30-plus-point halves since 2000 was the 2013 Denver Broncos (six) — the team that ultimately lost to the Seahawks in Super Bowl XLVIII.
Like the Patriots, the Broncos find themselves on a 10-game win streak with a major opponent up next: The Packers.
If the Bills facing the Patriots is 1A in the list of games to watch this coming week, the Packers and Broncos are 1B.
San Francisco has won four of its last five games. You could probably go ahead and put it as five-of-six with the Titans on deck.
Fine. I guess I will still give the Chargers two spots even though Justin Herbert was rude to Laura Rutledge. Almost didn't bump them just out of spite.
The Bears' stand at the top of the NFC was short lived, as the loss to the Packers drops them down to the No. 7 seed and snaps a five-game winning streak.
Fun fact: The last time the Colts beat the Jaguars at home was in a game that featured Andrew Luck vs. Chad Henne and Blake Bortles.
With his performance against the Bengals, Josh Allen became the first player in NFL history with 20-plus passing touchdowns and 10-plus rushing touchdowns in three or more career seasons.
Did anyone want to play defense in this game? Because a combined 74 points scored seems to me no one did.
Honestly, both teams deserved to lose this game with the number of turnovers there were.
The Colts' magical run of the first couple months of the season looks to be coming to an end. They were once the hottest team in football, now they may be one of the unluckier ones.
This Texans team is night and day from where they were the first three weeks of the season. They're back in this thing even if they aren't blowing people out of the water. They are finding ways to win.
DK Metcalf went bananas against the Ravens' secondary, accumulating 148 receiving yards. That's the most in a game for Metcalf since Week 4 of 2022.
The Bucs haven't been the same since their Week 9 bye. Heck, they've only won one game since then and they've allowed the Panthers to creep into the NFC South discussion. As it has been in recent years, this division may come down to Weeks 16-18… when the Bucs face the Panthers twice.
Three of the Panthers' final four games are against NFC South opponents. The path to the playoff is clear and all going to come down to the next month of games for the Panthers.
Dak Prescott has led the Cowboys offense to an NFL-best 393.1 total yards per game in 2025. Too bad his defense is giving up… checks notes… 408 to the Lions.
With the loss, it is very possible — likely, even — that the Chiefs will miss the playoffs for the first time since 2014. Somewhere, some man is blaming this on Taylor Swift.
For the first time in the Lamar Jackson era of the Baltimore dynasty, the Ravens find themselves below .500 after Week 14. Between this note and the Chiefs' playoff chances, perhaps the tide is shifting in the NFL landscape.
If the Dolphins can find a way to go 2-2 over the next four weeks to get them to 8-9, I'd say that would be quite the turnaround from starting the season 1-6.
After being shut out last week, the Vikings did the shutting out this week. They became the first team since the 1992 Broncos to be shut out and then shut out their opponent in their next game.
The Vikings also made NFL history as the first team ever to be shut out by at least 25 points and then shut out their opponent in their next game by at least 25 points. Just wild stuff.
The Bengals have now lost three games in 2025 in which they scored at least 34 points. This ties the most such games in a single season with the 2024 Bengals, 2002 Kansas City Chiefs and 1985 San Diego Chargers.
Yes, this year's Bengals tied the Bengals from last year.
The Falcons were officially eliminated from playoff contention with this loss. Atlanta now has at least nine losses in each of the last eight seasons, joining the Jets as the only teams with nine losses or more in each season during this span.
Perhaps this is who the Commanders are; not what we saw last year.
Sometimes I think no one has had it as bad as the Cardinals this year, but then I remember there are still teams on this list below them.
Don't ask me how the Saints did it. I don't know. But maybe everyone should have given Tyler Shough more credit? Mayhaps?
Has anyone checked on Cam Skattebo recently? How's he doing?
The Jets have been eliminated from playoff contention for the 15th consecutive season, which is the longest active drought in all four major North American sports.
As if I didn't think the stats this week could be any crazier…
If you lose to the Titans you have to drop below them. The problem is that … you actually can't so you get put only slightly above them.
Despite the loss compared to the Titans' win, the Raiders' loss is still a better performance than that of the Titans. I said what I said.
Sorry Titans. Beat anyone but the Browns, and I'll bump you up.
