FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — The Atlanta Falcons return home Sunday to host the Washington Commanders for a Week 4 matchup that has historically produced tight outcomes.
Twelve of the Falcons' 14 home games against the Commanders have been decided by single digits, including each of the last four. According to StatsPerform, that four-game streak is Atlanta's longest active streak of home games decided by single digits versus any NFC team.
The Falcons and Commanders last played each other in Washington during Week 17 of the 2024 season. Washington won, 30-24, after an overtime finish in which Atlanta didn't have a chance to answer the game-deciding touchdown. The NFL changed its overtime rules during the 2025 offseason to ensure each team possess the ball at least once during the extra 10-minute period.
Atlanta enters Sunday with a 1-2 record and coming off a loss to the Carolina Panthers. Washington is 2-1 and fresh off a win against the Las Vegas Raiders.
