FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- The Falcons announced a pair of roster moves on Monday, waiving fullback Luke McNitt and wide receiver Taj Williams and signing fullback Jalston Fowler and receiver Julian Williams.

Fowler was recently released by the Seattle Seahawks but has spent the past three seasons with the Tennessee Titans, who selected him in the fourth round of the 2015 NFL Draft. In his three seasons with the Titans, Fowler played in 42 games and carried the ball 10 times for 20 yards and two touchdowns. Fowler also caught six passes for 58 yards and a touchdown in that time.

Williams is an undrafted free agent out of Florida International University. In his two seasons at FIU, Williams played in 21 games and caught 41 passes for 483 yards and two touchdowns.

McNitt was one of the primary contenders for the Falcons' open fullback job along with Ricky Ortiz, who drew praise from head coach Dan Quinn for his performance through the first two preseason games. Williams joined the Falcons as and undrafted receiver out of TCU where he caught 41 passes for 735 yards and six touchdowns in two seasons.
