Falcons injury report: WR Darnell Mooney 'day-to-day' to start Week 1

Mooney missed all of training camp with a shoulder injury.

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — The Atlanta Falcons have released their first injury report of the 2025 season.

The main piece of information involves the status of wide receiver Darnell Mooney, who missed nearly all of training camp with a shoulder injury. Raheem Morris said Monday and again Wednesday that Mooney is considered "day-to-day." He was a limited participant on Wednesday as the team began on-field prep for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

"I never worry about his conditioning, but just the overall wear and tear of it all, all those type of things dealing with performance with a receiver, with a skilled athlete like that," Morris said Monday. "I don't know if anybody's ever 100% in the National Football League, so you don't want to say that, but it's always about how can he best perform? Can he help us win this football game without furthering any other issues?"

Along with Mooney, Wednesday's injury report shed light on two key absences from practice: safety DeMarcco Hellams and offensive tackle Jack Nelson. Both have soft tissue injuries.
