Falcons injury report: Darnell Mooney questionable vs. Bucs

Meanwhile, Clark Phillips III got the green light for Sunday but another defensive back has been ruled out.

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — For the first time since suffering a shoulder injury at the beginning of training camp in July, wide receiver Darnell Mooney discussed the state of his progress with local media Thursday. He said, then, that the plan is for him to be a game-time decision. That proclamation held up as the Falcons listed Mooney as questionable on Friday's official game report.

"I feel good," Mooney said. "I mean, I don't know about any percentage wise. Mentally, I feel good. Physically, I feel good."

According to Raheem Morris, the Falcons won't make a decision on Mooney until 90 minutes before Sunday's game against the Buccaneers kicks off, which is when the team releases its inactives list.

"We've got a chance to wait up until that last minute," Morris said. "Hopefully, we'll get a chance to see one of our better players out there."

In other injury news, the Falcons did get more concrete information on the soft tissue injuries plaguing safety DeMarcco Hellams and offensive lineman Jack Nelson. After not participating in practice all week, both have been ruled out of Sunday's game.
