Falcons injury report: Atlanta without 2 starting linemen as prep for Indianapolis Colts begins

Head coach Raheem Morris said he feels good about one, but the other is week-to-week.

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — The Atlanta Falcons were without two starting lineman at practice Wednesday before the team's international trip to Berlin, Germany to face the Indianapolis Colts this weekend.

Starting guards Chris Lindstrom (foot) and Matthew Bergeron (ankle) did not practice as they work through injuries sustained in the team's Week 9 loss to the New England Patriots. Bergeron was injured in the first offensive series last Sunday. He was carted to the locker room, and though he came back out to the sideline in his pads a short time later, he did not return to the game.

Head coach Raheem Morris said the team is considering Bergeron "week-to-week," adding "it doesn't look good for this week," regarding Bergeron's potential status for this Sunday in Germany. If Bergeron can't go, Morris said the team is expecting to move forward with Kyle Hinton at left guard.

As for Lindstrom, Morris was a bit more hopeful about potentially having him on the right side of the protection this weekend, saying he was "day-to-day."

In other offensive line news, the Falcons may be without swing tackle Storm Norton for a while longer. Norton has been on injured reserve since the start of the season with a foot injury that required surgery towards the tail end of the preseason. The team opened Norton's 21-day window to return from IR a couple weeks ago. Up until last Friday, Norton was a full participant in practice and seemed to be trending back to the active roster. However, last Friday he was listed as a non-participant in practice. He did not practice again this Wednesday. When asked for clarification on Norton's status Wednesday, Morris didn't provide much information in response other than it is "not good news."

The two pieces of good news for the Falcons was that nickel Billy Bowman Jr. (hamstring) and DL Zach Harrison (knee) returned to practice as full participants for the first time in a while. Bowman has missed every game since the team's Week 5 bye week, while Harrison has missed the last two. If they continue to progress through the week, Morris extended confidence that they could return to the game day lineup.
