FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. —The Atlanta Falcons placed safety DeMarcco Hellams on injured reserve Saturday.
The move was among a trio of transactions before the team's Week 14 game against the Seattle Seahawks inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The Falcons then signed wide receiver Deven Thompkins from the practice squad to fill the vacant roster spot. Atlanta also used its standard practice squad elevation on cornerback C.J. Henderson.
Hellams did not participate in any practice this week due to a hamstring injury. The third-year safety and former seventh-round pick played 28 snaps in the Falcons' Week 13 loss to the New York Jets last Sunday. In total, he appeared in 11 games this season, recording 10 tackles and recovering a fumble. He primarily played on special teams.
Thompkins was elevated twice from the practice squad this season, playing against the Jets and in the Falcons' Week 6 win against the Buffalo Bills. He caught both of his targets in New York for 23 yards. He also had one rush for 5 yards.
Henderson, meanwhile, has yet to take the field in 2025, though he has 32 starts in 49 game appearances on his resume since 2022.
The Falcons-Seahawks game is scheduled to kick off in Atlanta at 1 p.m. ET on FOX.
Reminder: Every team can elevate two players from the practice squad to the active roster for each game day. A player is allowed three elevations per season. A fourth elevation would require the player to be signed to the 53-man roster.
