Falcons Agree to Terms With LB Weatherspoon

The Atlanta Falcons today announced that they have agreed to terms with linebacker Sean Weatherspoon.

Weatherspoon, 6-2, 244 pounds, was selected by the Falcons in the first round (19th overall) of the 2010 NFL Draft. Weatherspoon spent his first four season in Atlanta, playing in 47 games with 41 starts and recording 288 total tackles (210 solo) with eight sacks, two fumble recoveries, two interceptions, one forced fumble, and 13 passes defensed.

Weatherspoon was sidelined the entire 2014 season and was signed by the Arizona Cardinals during the 2015 offseason. He saw action in 14 games for the Cardinals this past season and posted 11 total tackles (nine solo).

Weatherspoon collared 413 tackles (240 solo), 43.5 tackles for loss, 17 passes defensed, 12.5 sacks, five forced fumbles, four interceptions (two returned for touchdowns) and one fumble recovery in 53 career games at the University of Missouri.
