Atlanta Falcons sign DE Samson Ebukam

The 30-year-old pass rusher has 35 sacks in the NFL, including a career-best 9.5 sacks during the 2023 season.

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. β€” The Atlanta Falcons have signed defensive end Samson Ebukam.

Ebukam was drafted by the Los Angeles Rams in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft and appeared in 64 games with 35 starts for the organization over four years. He also spent two years with the San Francisco 49ers and was most recently with the Indianapolis Colts from 2023-25.

The 30-year-old pass rusher has 35 sacks in the NFL, including a career-best 9.5 sacks during the 2023 season. He has recorded 77 quarterback hits, 43 tackles for a loss and 11 forced fumbles since joining the league, developing into a disruptive force off the edge.

Ebukam worked with Falcons defensive line coach Nate Ollie in Indianapolis and thrived in the attack-style front that is now present in Atlanta.

"He's just got this calm, cool, collective approach," Ollie said of Ebukam in 2023. "He doesn't get too high; he doesn't get too low. He's coming in ready to work and also just helping the other ends out with their footwork, certain ways to use their hands and asks great questions about certain ways to attack offensive linemen."

In their first year with Ollie as defensive line coach and Jeff Ulbrich as defensive coordinator, the Falcons set a franchise record with 57 sacks last season, which were the second-most in the league.

The NFL's new league year began Wednesday at 4 p.m., meaning teams can now officially sign free agents and finalize trades. Visit our 2026 Free Agency Tracker to stay up to date on the Falcons in free agency.
