The Atlanta Falcons today announced that they have agreed to terms with defensive end Kroy Biermann. The terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Biermann, 6-3, 255 pounds, was originally selected by the Falcons in the fifth round (154th overall) of the 2008 NFL Draft. In four seasons in Atlanta, Biermann has played in 64 games with 17 starts and has posted 132 tackles (97 solo), 12.5 sacks, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery. He has also returned two interceptions for touchdowns.

In 2011, Biermann posted 35 tackles (16 solo) with 2.5 sacks. He intercepted a QB Jay Culter pass and returned it 50 yards for his second career touchdown, while adding one sack in the season opener at Chicago. The fourth-year man out of Montana also continued to play a key role on special teams, logging nine stops in kick and punt coverage.
