FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — The Atlanta Falcons have officially signed defensive lineman Chris Williams. The contract is reported to be a one-year deal, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Williams comes to the Falcons after spending the last two seasons with the Chicago Bears, where current Falcons general manager Ian Cunningham was the assistant general manager. Over the last two seasons in Chicago, Williams accumulated four sacks, 37 total tackles (four for a loss) and nine quarterback hits.
The Bears acquired Williams via a trade in 2024, sending a sixth-round pick to the Cleveland Browns in exchange for Williams and a seventh-round pick.
"Some people find it hard to go new places and adapt with new people but I feel like that's one of my strengths to get around new people and talk and learn," Williams said about himself upon joining the Bears in 2024.

The defensive lineman was a part of Kevin Stefanski's 2023 Cleveland Browns practice squad. Prior to that he was a part of the practice squads for Kansas City and Indianapolis. The latter of which signed Williams as an undrafted free agent out of Wagner in 2020.
The NFL's new league year began Wednesday at 4 p.m., meaning teams can now officially sign free agents and finalize trades. Visit our 2026 Free Agency Tracker to stay up to date on the Falcons in free agency.
