Each month during the 2011 season, the Atlanta Falcons select a player who has participated in community activities, shown a commitment to giving back to the community and/or went above and beyond at a particular visit. The Atlanta Falcons Community All-Star can be any player on the Falcons roster.

Joe Zelenka has been very passionate about getting involved in the community since his arrival in 2009. This past month, Zelenka spent an evening at the Ronald McDonald House in Atlanta where he served dinner, signed autographs, took pictures with the families and interacted with them. In celebration of Thanksgiving, Zelenka along with teammates Matt Bryant and Matt Bosher hosted a traditional Thanksgiving meal for the women and children of the Atlanta Mission.

"We had such a fun, special night at the Mission," Zelenka said. "It was such a memorable night to see the women and children having so much fun in celebration of Thanksgiving. I'm honestly not sure who had more fun that night, the women and children, or us. It is very special to me that I have the ability to make such a difference."

On Monday, Dec. 5, each of the Atlanta Falcons Community All-Star winners will be recognized at the annual Community Honors dinner. Each winner will be considered for the 2011 Atlanta Falcons Walter Payton Man of the Year Award.
