Whats the Latest on the Right Guard Battle?

The competition at right guard has been well-documented since training camp began. Now, with only one tune-up game left before the regular season, this storyline may soon reach its end.

According to head coach Dan Quinn, the No. 1 RG will be named "once this week is done." The Falcons will choose between Chris Chester, who's about to begin his 12th NFL campaign, and Wes Schweitzer, a rookie drafted in the sixth round.

Chester is scheduled to start against Jacksonville, per Quinn; Schweitzer, who's averaging 44 offensive snaps a game in the preseason, should have plenty of opportunities to make his case.

"Both guys have done a good job battling," Quinn said. "I really commend Chris on the way that he's come back. He had a shoulder injury and just the amount of work that he's put in has been impressive. But you have to say the same for Wes Schweitzer too, in terms of his battle and his commitment to playing physical in the run game. So we'll have a tough decision on that one."
