What They Said: Falcons vs. Giants

Head coach Mike Smith on putting together a complete game: "It's very important. They  don't remember what you do in September and October.  It's all about December and January. We've been saying we haven't played our best. We haven't played our best game and when we watch the game tomorrow we'll probably will have that same opinion. The guys did a very nice job today across the board in all three phases."

John Abraham on the win making a statement or being a defining win: "It's just another win for me. We have a long way to go, there are two games left in the regular season and I'll leave it to guys to guess which other games I'm referring to. It's a good win for us, but by no means is this team satisfied or complacent."

Harry Douglas on those that don't believe in the Falcons: "We had some here and there, but the main people I'm worried about are the people in this locker room. We're like a family here. We're close knit. We all hang out with one another, and we all believe and have faith in one another, 1000 percent. That's the main thing we focus on right now, becoming even closer, especially this time of the year, and becoming even closer as a group."

Tony Gonzalez on Sunday's win: "This is a good win today. Having said that, we will not allow ourselves to read too much into it and give ourselves too much credit. What I will also say is that this win is a byproduct of the way we practiced this week. Coach Mike Smith and the coaching staff did an excellent job of getting us prepared both mentally and physically to play a good game.  It was good to make amends from the outcome we had last week against the Carolina Panthers."

Matt Ryan on the play of his offensive line:"I thought our offensive line played fantastic. (The Giants) have one of the better front fours in the league and our guys really stepped up to the challenge. I thought in the run game they did a really good job and opened up some holes in the pass game, they played really well. We had one sack, but other than that they did a great job at keeping those guys off of me. I'm really proud of the way those guys played today."

Sean Weatherspoon on the defense's shutout: "This was the first shutout in my NFL career. The important thing was to get the win, and as the game progressed, we made a collective effort as a defensive-unit to keep the score at zero. We played well in all phases of the game, credit to the offense, defense and special teams."

Asante Samuel on his interception: "I was shipped from Philadelphia to make plays for this team. I'm accustomed to playing the Giants two times a year and that experience helped me make plays today."

Giants head coach Tom Coughlin on what surprised him the most: "Consistency, that's the word I'll use. I don't want to say shocked by it but where was it? They did a good job and we are not taking anything away from them defensively. They reeled us in and Samuel is still that same guy we have faced before. DeCoud had a nice interception. They were able to do some things up front that allowed their secondary to make plays and got a couple of interceptions out of it and it really took the wind out of our sails."
