Rookie linebacker Sean Weatherspoon continues to rest an injured ankle as Michael Jenkins and Erik Coleman take steps toward their returns.

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — Rookie linebacker Sean Weatherspoon did not practice again Thursday, head coach Mike Smith said after practice today. Weatherspoon has an ankle injury, and Smith said the team will take a look at the situation again Friday.

Wide receiver Michael Jenkins participated on a limited basis again Thursday, but Smith said Jenkins has done significantly more this week than he did last week, including the number of reps he's taking in practice.

Erik Coleman was also limited Thursday, but he saw less time on the field because the Falcons were forced to practice in The Barn because of poor weather outside. Smith said he wanted to make sure that Coleman's knee didn't get overloaded with the change of surface.
