Two mini camp tryout players signed

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga -- The Atlanta Falcons today signed defensive back Daylan Walker and quarterback Eric Ward following the team's 2010 mini-camp held this past weekend.

Walker, 5-9, 177 pounds, graduated from Arkansas State and totaled 152 career tackles (117 solo), three interceptions and 16 passes defensed. Last season, he recorded 51 tackles, one interception and a collegiate-high seven passes defensed. In 2008, Walker ranked third on the team in tackles (65) and was named the Sun Belt Conference Defensive Player of the Week after posting a season-high nine tackles and one interception for 33 yards in a victory over Middle Tennessee.

Ward, 6-2, 210 pounds, is a graduate of the University of Richmond who completed 784 of 1,264 career passes for 8,969 yards and 61 touchdowns. Last season, he threw for 2,396 yards and 16 touchdowns. Ward also totaled 420 career rushes for 1,406 yards and 22 touchdowns. In 2008, he set Spider single-season records in passing yards (2,808), completion percentage (64.1), attempts (359), completions (230) and touchdown passes (tied with 17). Ward also ranked 26th nationally with a career-best 141.5 passer rating in '08.
