Social Scoop: Best of Falcons Bye Week

Hello, bye week. We're happy you're here.

The first-half of the season featured a grueling ten-game stretch that included wins over the defending NFC and AFC champions, a 2-1 record over current division leaders, and six-games on the road. With a 6-4 record and a lead over the rest of the division, the Falcons are in good shape to take a break and reset before attacking the second-half of the season.

You can make an argument that the bye week came at the perfect time. Despite a 1.5 game lead over the rest of the NFC South, our coaches and players get some extra time to make deep evaluations of players and schemes. This week allows our workhorse players to rest. For guys like Tevin Coleman and Desmond Trufant, the recovery time is essential.

But what most fans don't think about is how the bye week gives our team more time to spend with the individuals who matter most. Many players, coaches and staff travel back home for a few days to cherish the little free time they have as NFL professionals.

Despite going to the bye with a loss, it's important to remember that true character is revealed when adversity arrives. WR Taylor Gabriel reminded us of this sentiment with this tweet.

Enjoy the bye week, Falcons fans. The best is yet to come.
