Smith Hoping for Clarity on Matthews Friday

It was another day without a Jake Matthews sighting on the practice field Thursday as the rookie offensive tackle continues to recover from an ankle injury he suffered in Sunday's win over New Orleans.

Matthews' status will become much more clear Friday, when the Falcons will have to place a game status of probable, questionable, doubtful or out on Matthews' condition for Sunday against the Bengals.

"We'll have a lot more clarity (Friday)," Smith said after Thursday's practice. "We'll be releasing on our injury report what the status for the game is. We'll have a whole lot more clarity (Friday)."

Roddy White was a limited participant again Thursday, but he told the media earlier in the day that he was "ready to go" for Sunday's Week 2 matchup.
