The Falcons running game didn't come on strong until the end of the season, but both of Atlanta's top running backs found a variety of ways to continue to contribute even when the ground game wasn't the top feature.

Running backs Devonta Freeman and Jacquizz Rodgers combined for 316 carries in 2012 for 1,162 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns. They also teamed up in the passing game, combining to catch 72 passes for 530 yards and two touchdowns.

Both of Rodgers' 362 rushing yards and 402 receiving were career highs and Turner chipped in 800 yards rushing and 128 yards receiving. Rodgers was fourth on the Falcons in yards and receptions (53) and he totaled 762 yards from scrimmage,

Rodgers joined Turner as the only backs on the roster to eclipse more than 750 yards from scrimmage and the Falcons became one of only four teams with two running backs with more than 750 scrimmage yards. In addition to Rodgers and Turner, Mikel Leshoure and Joique Bell of Detroit, Darren Sproles and Pierre Thomas of New Orleans and Darren McFadden and Marcel Reece of Oakland accomplished the feat.
