Offense Dominates First Half For Falcons

The Falcons scored on their first offensive possession, and kept going and going.

At halftime, Matt Ryan and the Falcons have 243 total yards. While the Falcons' run offense hasn't been very active, Ryan and the passing have been all over the field. Ryan has completed 17 passes with 22 attempts. Ryan's efficiency on the day has been outstanding, completing 77 percent of his passes, completing 10 straight at one point.

Ryan has 203 yards passing on the day, completing passes to six different receivers, including two touchdowns to Julio Jones. Jones is the second-leading Falcons receiver in the game with 58 receptions, only a few yards shy of Roddy White's 61 yards on five catches.

The Falcons have 14 first downs on the day, 13 through the air and one on the ground, an 11-yard run by Ryan.

Tight Tony Gonzalez has added four catches for 46 yards.

Unfortunately, the Chiefs have been effective on offense as well. A late field goal gave the Falcons a 20-17 lead, but Matt Cassel and the Chiefs have 211 yards of offense.
