Matt Ryan Completes First Eleven Passes Against Bengals

Playing into the second quarter Thursday night against the Bengals, Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan completed his first 11 passes. Ryan started the game six-for-six on the first drive, making him nine-for-nine on first possessions during this year's preseason and nine-for-nine in the first quarter.

Ryan carried the streak into the second half, completing his next two passes for 11 straight. His first incompletion came on the Cincinnati two-yard line, a pass to running back Michael Turner.

Ryan ended the first quarter with 66 yards on his nine completions.

*UPDATE: *Ryan closed the night after the second-quarter touchdown to Lousaka Polite. The quarterback 18-for-21 for 174 yards and one touchdown. His QB rating was 117.1. He was replaced by Chris Redman.
