Madden Simulation: Defense Shines in Seattle

Last week, our Madden 17 simulation accurately predicted that Atlanta's defense would step up on the road and beat a recent Super Bowl champion. The latest sim happened to follow a similar script.

The Falcons' D once again stole the show, holding Seattle's offense to one field goal, and Matt Ryan led Atlanta on three touchdown drives to give the Falcons a 21-3 win over the Seahawks.

Ryan completed all nine of his throws for 110 yards and a touchdown to Julio Jones. The Falcons QB, who earned a near-perfect 154.6 passer rating, didn't need to take on a heavy workload because Devonta Freeman went off: The Pro Bowl RB gained 161 rushing yards on 17 carries, one of which he ran 60 yards for a first-quarter touchdown.

Jones caught his TD (a six-yard reception) shortly thereafter, and less than two minutes into the third, Tevin Coleman found the end zone from two yards out.

That was all the Falcons needed — and then some. Atlanta constantly frustrated Russell Wilson, who completed just 17 of 27 passes for 186 yards and an interception, caught by Desmond Trufant. None of the Seahawks' running backs were successful, either, as Seattle tallied just 35 total rushing yards.
