HS Teams Of The Week: Oct. 31

The Atlanta Falcons and The Georgia Army National Guard are proud to recognize the following high school football program nominees for the week of October 31, 2011. The stories below reflect the character, integrity and strength of some of Georgia's best high school football programs. The Atlanta Falcons and Georgia Army National Guard are honored to share these stories, as they embody the core values of both organizations.

For each of the five Georgia High School Football classifications, fans are encouraged to read the submissions and vote for the team you believe should win. Voting is open through 5 pm ET on Fridays, and winners will be announced on the Honor Roll page each Monday at atlantafalcons.com/teamsoftheweek-honor-roll.

WEEK OF OCTOBER 31

CLASS AAAAA


Parkview Panthers, Lilburn, GA
The Panthers are excited about another successful football season and are looking forward to making yet another run at the state championship. The mission of Parkview High School is to prepare all students for success as they become contributing members of society.

Brookwood Broncos, Snellville, GA
The Broncos team mission is to take student athletes where they cannot go themselves, to foster an environment that teaches young people to build foundations of academic success and leadership and pursue the state championship!

Johnson Atomsmashers, Savannah, GA
The Savannah Chatham County Public School System was proud to announce that Johnson High School was named by the Challenge Index as one of the top high schools in the United States for the third consecutive year. Johnson was ranked this year in the top five percent of all public high schools in the nation. The mission of the athletic department at Johnson High School is: "To engage the minds, to elevate the spirits, and to stimulate the best efforts of all who are associated with Johnson High school." Congratulations to Johnson High School for winning the GHSA Cooperative Spirit Sportsmanship Award 2011.

Johns Creek Gladiators, Johns Creek, GA
For starters, Johns Creek is still a new school in the area. Johns Creek has been improving tremendously each and every year. This year, the Gladiators have started off the season undefeated and are going to remain one of the toughest teams in the region. The team has a great running game. The offensive line gives their ball carriers great coverage and can open holes for big gains offensively. Soloman, Storm, Overton and Pack have consistently demonstrated a passion for running the ball to the goal line. The team's defense hasn't allowed any more than two touchdowns per game. All in all, this team is only getting better.

Forsyth Central Bulldogs, Cummings, GA
The Bulldogs are a great group of student athletes who understand that education is their first priority.

Evans Knights, Evans, GA
They Bulldogs are a pillar in the Evans community.

CLASS AAA


Crisp County Cougars, Cordele, GA
The Crisp County Cougars have a long history of excellence within the community and have always partnered with the Georiga National Guard to support education and community events.

Veterans Warhawks, Kathleen, GA
Veterans High School is very supportive of the millitary branches. The students are all soliders. Being close to a major millitary base, the student body consists of a large percent of millitary families. They are proud to show their appreciation for millitary families for their strength when loved ones are being deployed.

Washington County Golden Hawks, Sandersville, GA
The Golden Hawks have been a strong team in the region 3A, sending many players to college or the military. They are currently in competition for a region championship.

CLASS AA


Adairsville Tigers, Adairsville, GA
Under the leadership of Coach Kremer, the Tigers are coming off of a win last week, vs Model HS, that took them to 7-1 on the season. This week's game with Rockmart, promises to be a challenge; however, they are definitely looking forward to advancing to the playoffs. Their current record is currently the second best in Region 7A behind Calhoun. The Tigers are looking forward to big things in the GHSA Football IIA State Championship Tournament. Go Tigers!

Putnam County Eagles, Eatonton, GA
Assisting all students in acquiring knowledge, fostering aspirations, and developing life skills that will empower them to become self-directing, productive and contributing members of a global society. This is Putnam County's mission in regards to their students. The faculty takes this mission very serious in educating their students and developing them into contributing members of society.

Greene County Tigers, Greensboro, GA
Despite their current 2-6 record, the Greene County Tigers give it all they have every Friday night to represent their school and community. The Tigers are comprised of young men who are of the highest moral character giving no less an 110% in both athletics and academics. Though in a rebuilding state, the Tigers hope to build off the talent they have and continue to move forward to victory.

Macon County Bulldogs, Montezuma, GA
The Bulldogs have a hard work staff and student body. They would be honored to be recognized as Team of the Week to bring attention to their great school which is unknown to most based on location. They are proud of their hard work and success both on and off the field.

Twiggs County Cobras, Jeffersonville, GA
The Cobras want to continue the journey of success by setting the standards high for our students in academic excellence and extracurricular involvement.

Emanuel County Bulldogs, Twin City, GA
The Bulldogs are one of the top A classification schools in the state both on the field and in the classroom.
