HS Teams of The Week: Nov. 14

The Atlanta Falcons and The Georgia Army National Guard are proud to recognize the following high school football program nominees for the week of November 14, 2011. The stories below reflect the character, integrity and strength of some of Georgia's best high school football programs. The Atlanta Falcons and Georgia Army National Guard are honored to share these stories, as they embody the core values of both organizations.

For each of the five Georgia High School Football classifications, fans are encouraged to read the submissions and vote for the team you believe should win. Voting is open this week through 9 AM ET on Monday, November 21. Winners will be announced on the Honor Roll page each Monday at atlantafalcons.com/teamsoftheweek-honor-roll.

WEEK OF NOVEMBER 14

CLASS AAAAA


Milton Eagles, Milton, GA
Milton High School has grown to become an academic, artistic and athletic powerhouse with a population of over 2600 students in grades 9 – 12 this school year. Serving students in both the City of Alpharetta and the City of Milton, Milton High School boasts a graduation rate of 97%, and sends 90% of the senior class on to four year collegiate institutions.

Norcross Blue Devils, Norcross, GA
The Blue Devils have always focused on education first then athletics. This philosophy is built to strengthen the coummunity and students.

North Gwinnett Bulldogs, Suwanee, GA
The Bulldogs have shown great sportsmanship, team work, respect, and compassion for themselves and the community.

Chattahoochie Cougars, Johns Creek, GA
The Hooch has overcome all of the toughest competitors throughout Georgia. The students, parents and administration are extremely supportive and spirited. Their teamwork and professionalism makes Chattahoochie one of the best schools in the nation.

SW Dekalb Panthers, Decatur, GA
The Panthers are known for their community service in the surrounding area as well as having great students who play the game with academics first in line..

Tri-Cities Bulldogs, East Point, GA
Tri-Cities prides itself on providing students and the community with a quality comprehensive educational experience. Composed of four academic counselors, a high school graduation coach and a school psychologist the staff works diligently with all students towards their ultimate prize, a high school diploma.

Henry County Warhawks, McDonough, GA
Henry County High School is currently scheduled for the second round of state playoffs at St. Pius November 18, 2011. They are focused on performance both on and off the field.

Peach County Trojans, Ft. Valley, GA
Peach County shows teamwork and strives for exellence not only in sports but with the whole student body and staff.

Carver-Columbus Tigers, Columbus, GA
The Carver Tigers embody the spirit of the National Guard. They continue to fight each week and never give up. They face adversity on the field with strength, honor and integrity.

Buford Wolves, Buford, GA
The mission of Buford High School is to empower students to reach their full potential as lifelong learners and effective members of society by inspiring them to think, to achieve, and to care.

Brookstone Cougars, Columbus, GA
The Cougars achieved a season record of 8-2, which earned a spot in the 1A playoffs. The cougars were defeated 27-17 in a tough game last week against Calvary Day School. Nonetheless, the athletes on the team represented themselves and the school in an outstanding manner and made everyone proud of their efforts.

Bacon County Raiders, Alma, GA
The Bacon County Raiders are very patriotic and supportive of the Georgia Army National Guard. The players are disciplined and show an extraordinary amount of heart at practice and in their games.
