FLOWERY BRANCH, GA — The Atlanta Falcons today have signed free agent cornerback Gabe Derricks and released kicker Steve Hauschka.

Derricks was a four-year starter in the secondary while at the University of San Diego. In 2009, he totaled 58 tackles, one interception, two passes defenses and one forced fumble. Derricks was also named a two-time Pioneer Football League first-team selection (2008-09). The 6-foot-3, 202-pound cornerback was originally signed by the Falcons as a rookie free agent in April. He was released in July.

Hauschka spent the 2008 season and half of the 2009 season with the Baltimore Ravens before being signed by the Falcons as a free agent Dec. 29, 2009.

Peek, a member of Alabama's 2009 National Championship team, was originally signed as a rookie free agent by the Falcons on April 26, 2010.
