Game Highlights

The game started out with an impressive 25-yard catch by tight end Tony Gonzalez.

After the Patriots were up 10-3 with little to go in the second quarter, quarterback Matt Ryan threw to Gonzalez for a game-tying 21-yard touchdown.

The Falcons recovered the ball after Patriots quarterback Tom Brady fumbled a snap in a crucial fourth-and-one situation during the fourth quarter.

Wide receiver Julio Jones made a clutch 49-yard catch late in the fourth quarter in the midst of what appeared to be a Falcons comeback, but Atlanta came up short and fell 30-23 to New England.

Postgame

The red zone woes continued for the Falcons, as they scored on just one of six trips inside the 20, and Jacquizz Rodgers and the rest of the offense are looking for answers.

Linebacker Stephen Nicholas was part of a defense that came up with a crucial stop with less than two minutes left but the Falcons couldn't turn it into points.

Despite the loss, veteran tight end Tony Gonzalez finished Sunday's game with a career-high 149 receiving yards.

Following the loss, head coach Mike Smith said that the Falcons have earned their 1-3 record and that the team needs to find answers quickly to the issues that continue to hurt them.
