Gameday Coverage Recap: Falcons vs. Jets

The Falcons rallied from a 27-14 fourth quarter deficit to take a one-point lead with less than 2 minutes left in the game, but the Jets marched down the field and eventually won the game with a 43-yard field goal in the final seconds.

Game Highlights

After completing an 18-yard pass from Matt Ryan, Roddy White fumbles the ball - but it's then recovered by Julio Jones for an additional 18-yard gain.

Matt Ryan completes a shovel pass to Jason Snelling for a 4-yard touchdown to put the Falcons up 7-3 in the second quarter.

Jacquizz Rodgers runs into the end zone for a touchdown that trims the Jets' lead to 17-14 in the third quarter.

Rodgers scores his second touchdown of the game in the fourth quarter, closing the Jets' game to 27-21 in the fourth quarter.

Matt Ryan fires deep left to Julio Jones, who then makes a tight one-handed catch in the fourth quarter.

The Falcons take a 28-27 lead over the Jets in the fourth quarter after Levine Toilolo scores a 3-yard touchdown.

Postgame

Despite the loss, RB Jacquiz Rodgers had a stellar performance, scoring two of the Falcons' four touchdowns of the game.

A 1-4 start to the season is certainly not what Tony Gonzalez expected, and while the tight end is disappointed, he said the start has to be met with urgency and accountability for everyone on the team.

Falcons safety William Moore reflected on the loss and searched for answers after seeing the Jets rally in the final minutes of the game.

Safety Thomas DeCoud didn't hide his disappointment after the loss, but still remains confident that the team will regroup and bounce back.

After another disappointing loss, the Falcons are still searching to successfully finish a game. They head into their bye week 1-4, but remain determined to come back strong and turn the season around.
