Game Recap: Falcons vs. Seahawks

  • K Matt Bryant connected on his only field goal of the day, a season-long 53-yard kick. He has hit both of his attempts from 50 yards this season and since joining the Falcons in 2009, Bryant has connected on 10 of 11 kicks from 50-yards-or-longer.
  • Rookie WR Darius Johnson caught his first career touchdown pass, hauling in a 12-yard strike from Ryan in the third quarter. The first-year player out of Southern Methodist was signed by the Falcons as a college free agent following the 2013 NFL Draft. Since being signed to the active roster, Johnson has caught eight passes for 86 yards (10.8 yards per reception) and one touchdown. He is one of nine Falcons to catch at least one touchdown pass this season.
  • Johnson was signed to the active roster from the Falcons practice squad on October 19, 2013. He caught 155 passes for 2,008 yards and 14 touchdowns in four seasons at SMU.
  • Rookie LB Paul Worrilow led the Falcons defense with 19 tackles for the second straight game. He logged 10 solo tackles on Sunday and has posed 38 total tackles in the last two games after notching 21 total tackles in the first seven games.
  • According to Stats LLC., Worrilow's 19 stops are tied for the most by any Falcon defender since 1994. Worrilow also joins Falcons Ring of Honor member Jesse Tuggle as the only players in franchise history to record 15-or-more tackles twice in one season.
  • According to Stats LLC., Worrilow's 19 tackles are the second-most in a single game this season behind Buffalo's LB Kiko Alonso, who was credited with 22 stops in an October 13th game against Cincinnati. Additionally, Worrilow and Dallas LB Sean Lee are the only players to post two games with 16-or-more tackles.
  • LB Joplo Bartu finished the game with six tackles (one solo), including an eight-yard sack of QB Russell Wilson. He ranks second on the team with 3.5 sacks and has recorded at least one half-sack in four of the last five games. Additionally, Bartu leads all undrafted rookie defenders in the NFL with 3.5 sacks.
