Freeman in the Top Five of Pro Bowl Balloting

Atlanta's running back Devonta Freeman is on his way to having a season that will establish him as one of the top running backs in the NFL.

Through nine weeks, Freeman ranks at the top of the league in a number of statistical categories.

Freeman ranks first in total touchdowns with 11 and also ranks first in rushing touchdowns with nine. Entering the Falcons' bye week, he also ranks first in total yards with 1,141 and receptions by a running back (48). Adrian Peterson of the Minnesota Vikings is the only player to have more rushing yards than Freeman (721), as his 758 yards rank first.

These numbers have resonated with many and it comes as no surprise that Freeman is garnering Pro Bowl attention in just his second season.

Not only is Freeman racking up the votes, he currently ranks in the top five of the total votes received.

Through the midway point of the season, here's a look at the rankings thus far:

  1. QB Tom Brady (141,750 votes)
  2. QB Aaron Rodgers (120,242 votes)
  3. QB Andy Dalton (114,368 votes)
    4. RB Devonta Freeman (103,334 votes)
  4. TE Rob Gronkowski (101,674 votes)

Freeman is the only running back in the top five, showing just how elite his performance has been this season.
