Prior to being honored during Sunday's game, some great Falcons alums gathered for a dinner event to mingle and catch up.

ATLANTA — As part of Alumni Weekend, former Falcons got together Saturday night for an alumni dinner hosted at the Arthur M. Blank Family Office in downtown Atlanta.

The event, emceed by 680 The Fan's Buck Belue, started with mingling between players and guests. There was a short video montage played before players were introduced. Falcons president Rich McKay gave a speech and presented each of the players with a throwback jersey.

"Anytime I'm in the same building as Steve Bartkowski and Alfred Jenkins, I feel pretty special," former Falcons running back Jamal Anderson said. "Some of the greatest Falcons of all time are being honored, obviously with the Pro Bowl, and it's nice. It's very nice that Arthur is putting this on for some of the alumni and the Falcons are participating. You're talking about some of the greatest Falcons of all time. So to be in this company, I feel pretty good."

Former Falcons Pro Bowlers from all eras of team history will participate in a ceremony during halftime of Sunday's Falcons-49ers game at the Georgia Dome.

More than 100 former Falcons alumni, including 30 players who were named to the National Football Conference Pro Bowl team as members of the Falcons, are in town this weekend participating in a number of team-sponsored events, celebrations and ceremonies.

"It's pretty special. I guess I take for granted how great Arthur Blank is and how fantastic this organization is now," former Falcons quarterback Steve Bartkowski said. "Rich, and Thomas Dimitroff and Mike Smith, I'm just a huge fan of all those guys. And I'm a huge fan of all the guys that are going to be in that room tonight. It's very, very special from a standpoint of building a history and an alliance with those guys. I think it's a fantastic idea and it's so much fun to see these guys."
